(Washington, DC) -- The Senate Subcommittee on Global Warming and Wildlife under the leadership of Senator Joseph Lieberman is holding a hearing today to review the impacts of global warming on wildlife.

"Canaries were once used by coal miners to detect deadly gases," said George Fenwick, President of American Bird Conservancy (ABC). "Today, scientists are already documenting negative impacts on many bird species from global warming - a clear warning to society of the risks it faces - and another reason we must enact solutions now."

A fact sheet, based on a report produced by ABC and the National Wildlife Federation, details the impacts of global warming on birds and is available at http://www.abcbirds.org/newsandreports/releases/070207_report.pdf
