New Bird Discovered in Colombia

Photo: Fundación ProAves

A bird new to science has been discovered high in the mountains of Colombia. The Yariguíes Brush-Finch, as it has been named, was found by researchers next to the Cerulean Warbler Bird Reserve, operated by ABC partner Fundación ProAves. The reserve was purchased in 2005 by ABC and ProAves through funding from Dorothy Welch, British Conservationist Robert Giles, and other supporters. For more information, visit www.proaves.org.
