Reporting Pesticide Incidents
Notifying Authorities
When you suspect an incident of pesticide poisoning, please contact your local fish and wildlife service, state department of natural resources or department of environmental conservation.
Finding an Injured Animal
When you find an injured animal, contacting a local wildlife rehabilitator or rehabilitation center is the best place to start. Below are links to two directories of U.S. wildlife rehabilitators/centers, listed by state. Wildlife rehabilitators are required to contact the local fish and wildlife service law enforcement office if illegal pesticide use is suspected. If you do not find a contact in your area, call your local Game & Fish Department, veterinarian, or Animal Control Office. These individuals will often be able to direct you to local wildlife rehabilitation facilities or otherwise assist you in how to proceed.
