Umbrellabird Lodge, Buenaventura Reserve, El Oro Province, southwestern Ecuador. Here you can see the El Oro Parakeet and other unusual species such as Gray-backed Hawk, Rufous-headed Chachalaca, Ochre-bellied Dove, Cloud-forest Pygmy-Owl, Little Woodstar, and Long-wattled Umbrellabird. The facilities are suitable for small groups, with room for 8-10 visitors.

Tapichalaca Lodge, Tapichalaca Reserve. The Jocotoco Antpitta is the main attraction here, but hummingbirds such as Flame-throated Sunangel abound at feeders at the lodge, and you might see Golden-plumed Parakeet, Crimson-bellied Woodpecker, or White capped Tanager, among the other 389 species on the reserve’s bird list . The lodge will accommodate up to eight people in four bedrooms with private baths.

Río Canandé Lodge, Río Canandé Reserve , northwestern Ecuador. This area is among the wettest places on earth, with an extraordinarily rich flora and fauna. Its bird list of 363 species includes species such as the Great Green Macaw and Banded Ground-Cuckoo. The lodge is simple but suitable for small groups of up to eight people in rooms with private baths.
