Selected IBAs have received a dedication
package which contains a sign and certificate for the site
to display to the public. The package also contained the complete
site account for that IBA enabling the site managers to verify
the information we have compiled. This feedback ensures that
the materials we publish are as accurate as possible. Many
of the IBAs have organized public dedication ceremonies to
bring attention to their new IBA designation. One site even
had a cake made in the design of the IBA sign shown above.
The designation materials and public ceremonies are a simple
but effective way of focusing greater attention on these sites
and their value to bird conservation.
If your site has been designated a Globally
Important Bird area and you would like additional designation
materials, please email .
