The Bird Conservation Alliance (BCA) was
formed by ABC in 2004 to connect all non-profit groups in
the Americas that share a common concern for bird conservation
issues. It is a comprised of bird conservation groups, research
institutions, bird clubs, and educational establishments,
and represents millions of birdwatchers and concerned citizens
united for the conservation of birds.
The Alliance works to ensure a broad-based,
informed, and effective network for bird conservation, with
the central goal of conserving healthy populations of native
wild birds in the Americas. The Alliance serves as a forum
for organizations to exchange ideas and information regarding
current isses in bird conservation, assists its members in
conducting collaborative advocacy, and offers resources to
support bird conservation work conducted by its members.
Operations of the Alliance are facilitated
by ABC, and through regular communications and campaigns ,
ABC endeavors to build a strong network in support of bird
conservation programs and policies. Members of the Alliance
have use of various BCA tools, including the BCA
website and meetings, to build support for their activities.
